I do like the nose on that truck better than the durango's current one. Its not pug nosed. But no it will never see the light of day. Also the dak and durango are on two completely differant chassis.

well first of all i think they should make a dakota R/T

DMC said they rnt gonna put a hemi in a dakota casue theyd have to move the control arms and all that sh*t but rnt the dakotas and durangos basically the same from the firewall forward
If I remember it right, the new Durangos do not share the same frame as the Dakota as they say the new Durango is physically wider and longer then the dakotas?

For a more detailed answer:
'05 Dak:
Overall Length: 218
Overall Width: 74 **
Overhang - Front: 38
overhang - Rear: 48
Track: 62 **
Wheelbase: 131
(Only one chassis for this Gen of the Dakotas)

'04+ Durango:
Overall Length: 200
Overall Width: 76 **
Overhang - Front: 37
overhang - Rear: 43
Track: 64 **
Wheelbase: 119

** Notice these measurements are on the width, if they can't get the Hemi in the Dak then that must be one tight fit in the Durango, they must use a shoe horn to squeeze those in. 2 inches is the difference between the two (so 1" on both sides of the engine).
Straight from dodge.com in specifications.

Does anyone notice the idea similarity between the Durango pickup and the Chevy SSR? Personally, I'm not thrilled by the truck, but the engine is something else !
That's exactly what struck me first. GM is supposed to be going with the 6.1L LS whatever GM POOPY engine in the SSR next year. It still won't perform with the SRT-10 though.

If this truck represents available parts mods for my RAm though,[sm=smiley20.gif]

If and when they do make some truck like this and stick in the 6.1 hemi, I'll choose this guy over the viper truck any day! Problaby would beat the viper truck as well as I would think this truck would be lighter and firmer and have lots of HP!

It would be hard to conceive that DC would make another truck that would compete directly with the SRT-10. That's why we haven't seen performance parts for the Hemi I believe.

Take the twin turbos off so i wont compete with the srt-10 and name it the dakota r/t.
Thats what i think DCX should do and dont mess it up by making any ex or quad cab r/ts.

That's not a half bad idea there.
