600 horsepower for $83,145: '08 Dodge Viper gets priced
AutoBlog.com

Man, and here we thought that the 600-horse Bentley Continental GT Speed was a bargain at $199K. Dragtimes.com has reportedly obtained the pricing info for the revamped, more powerful 2008 Dodge Viper. The news is good, as The New Chrysler's flagship tire-melter will start at just $83,145 for the Viper SRT10 Roadster. Want the coupe? Pony up a little more: $83,895. Bang-for-the-buck, thy name is Viper.

Interesting, prices dropped slightly.
Gut feeling is hardcore 3rd gen owners will be fast to get the new model and you may see a slight dealer markup with very fewsitting inshowrooms until the 09 model. This also means a flood of 3rd Gens in the used market, driving those prices down a little.
As for 1st and 2nd Gen owners, most will stay with what they have or buy a second. Most of those owners are not overly thrilled with the 3rd Gen, however the boost in HPcould be tempting enough to move to the new coupe for some of them.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is stopping dodge from putting turbos, even a single turbo on these vipers? I've seen some twin turbo vipers pushing 2000+HP. I think it would be a very powerful edition to an already very powerful engine.
I think one thing we all love about the Viper is the raw natural power. I'll leave turbos and superchargers to aftermarket owners and companies like Hennessey.

I agree with that a bit to, less of a chance of something to break, fail ,etc..I'm just not one to let so much power be left un tapped :-P
