Default Chrysler Firepower & Jeep Gladiator Concept !

I found these on Autoblog.com's website. The Jeep looks neat, but wouldn't it be cutting into the Dodge Pickup market?

Thanks for posting these Polish Don... I was at work, when my cell phone rang, and my cousin told me about these two, went the press statement was released. But yes, these are two great concepts, the Jeep Gladiator Concept, seems to be a mix between the 1999 Dodge Power Wagon Concept and the Jeep Rescue Concept from last year. The Firepower Concept by Chrysler, looks to be a direct attack on the Ford Shelby GR-1 Concept from this year... also remember "Firepower" comes from the first HEMI engine ever built the 331ci "Firepower" HEMI V-8 in 1955!

Judging by the outside door hinges and hood latches, not to mention the front clip shape - this is simply a stretched Wrangler, not a new Dodge based chassis like the Power Wagon concept. The wagon version of the Power Wagon pickup concept became the Durango SUV.

Since the Dakota pickup is only club or quad cab, how about a real live regular cab Jeep pickup? This one looks too long to be a hardcore off roader.

If they are already working up a Viper hardtop, why even flirt with the "Chrysler" closed coupe. Just have a Hemi Viper coupe sold for a little less than the V10 version.

Well,

I actually agree with one of the messages on Autoblog. It reminds me alot of the Scrambler or the older (50's-60's) type jeep pickup.

Even check this like out, some kind of concept called the AEV Jeep Brute (from an article in Jeep Magazine) !

I like the new gladiator over the scrambler/brute. Mostly because of the 5'6" bed that can slide to 8'. Plus I like the new VM 2.8Lcrd. This should be slightly cheaper than buying a wrangler and having it modified into a brute.
The gladiator reminds me of the *****'s jeep truck of 1949.
It is a nice alternative to the 3.7L dakota.
