I would rather buy the magnum renamed a 300 touring as long as it had the 300 front end and not that ugly-*** thing thats been on there since the beginning. A pimped out wagon would still sell... its just that front end that kills it.

I'm aware of the replacement, however, the only Dodge convertible we have available now is the Viper which is out of many buyers price range. An Avenger convertible would be an interesting concept. No criticisms of the Avenger, I rented one recently and enjoyed it. I like the body style of the Avenger/Charger.
Actually, there is no convertibles for Dodge. The Viper is a hardtop or a roadster, not a convertible.

Dodge also has gotten rid of all of its coupes, with Chrysler to soon follow except for the Sebring Convertible. The only coupe on the horizon will be a limited production and costly Challenger....again...making it very Viper like...

(The Viper is not included simply due to its price and very, very limited numbers)
Hate to disagree but I'm able to build my own Viper SRT10 convertible on dodge.com as of now with a base MSRP of $86,390. Do you know something the manufacturer doesn't or are we nitpicking on the definition of a roadster over a convertible? Dodge says it's a convertible and it looks like a convertible to me looking at the pics online. I was not quantifying price. I was quantifying convertibles currently manufactured by Dodge.

I'm not a convertible freak, my significant other who has a 2005 Sebring convertibleis and she's not happy with Chrysler now. She also shares my belief that the current generation Sebrings are ugly and should follow the earlier Ford Taurus and be used for ordnancetargets.

There's something just wrong about not seeinga current production convertible that is affordable toa majority of the auto buying market with the Dodge logo on it.

Considering the Viper has never been a convertible....yes I'll nitpick

Dodge.com offers the Viper in a Coupe or Roadster option.....

I don't care what Dodge calls it. It's still a convertible.con·vert·i·ble–adjective 1. capable of being converted.
2. having a folding top, as an automobile or pleasure boat.
3. exchangeable for something of equal value: debts payable only in convertible currencies.
–noun4. an automobile or a boat with a folding top.
5. a sofa, couch, or chair whose seating section can be folded out into a bed.
6. Finance. a convertible bond or security.
It's a folding top... road·ster–noun1. an early automobile having an open body, a single seat for two or three persons, and a large trunk or a rumble seat.
2. a horse for riding or driving on the road.

Wrong.

A convertible has a permanent top that is attached to the vehicle while a roadster is is an open top vehicle.

Throwing a leather cover over a vehicle doesnt make it a convertible. I bet you'll be telling me that the Shelby Cobra is a convertible too right?

Id like to get into this arguement; if I may?

I've got to agree with Midnight on this one. A convertible isavehiclewith a removeable, or folding roof. A Roadster is a vehicle made without a roof.

And the Dodge Viper is made in a coupe or a roadster.... NOT a convertible........even Dodge.com SAYS its a coupe or a roadster....

Also, to be a convertible, the tophas to remain ON the car when folded down.....that means the top ispermanent partof the car......where as a roadster's top, if they make one, is not permanent..

They make several cars with snap on leather tops or small fiberglass tops, but these are still roadsters, as the car itself rolls off the assembly line without a permanent roof.

Wow, just gonna straight up call me wrong. My reply was straight from a dictionary and you'll find a similar definition anywhere you look. You just proved yourself wrong. The Viper has a convertible top.

The only Viper that was an open top or T top (roadster) was the RT/10 I believe.

Can;t believe this has turned into a convertible debate.
