!!! Very Very Good Inside Sources Say We Will See The New Dodge Charger At The New York Auto Show !!! Charger will be built on the LX platform along w/ the Magnum and 300 Series... however the Charger will be a sedan... two things have been said about it... one: four door sedan and two: two full-size doors w/ claim shell sucide doors behind them like the RX-8. We will more than likely see the Charger w/ a 6.1L HEMI V-8 as well producing 400+ horsepower and 400+ ft-lbs of torque! The codename used by Chrysler Group for the 6.1L HEMI V-8 is "440". 440 is not the displacement but the power this engine is said to be running! Not sure if it is 440 horsepower or 440 ft-lbs of torque? Charger has been rumored to be powered by a base 250 horsepower 3.5L V-6, 340 horsepower 5.7L HEMI V-8, and of course the 6.1L HEMI V-8 in SRT-8 models. This is great news... Charger might debut early mid-2005, because of NASCAR rules placed on the Dodge Intrepid. It will not, I REPEAT WILL NOT, look like the 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept car. I really wish it did, but insiders and sources I have talked to, said it won't! I'll post more info, later...</P>

This is the actual 6.1L HEMI V-8 by DaimlerChrysler... This is an actual HEMI unlike the 5.7L HEMI "MAGNUM" V-8. Notice the orange block color is back, and look at that intake!!! This is what will be in store for power inside your performance cars and your Heavy Duty Ram pickups in the next year/year and a half!</P>

Thank God!!!! I'm still pissed about the whole 4 door thing though. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"> I have been hearing about the 6.1 Hemi for quite a few years now, I was wondering when they were finally going to get around to it. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">

 

What I don't understand is why doesn't Dodge do this...</P>


Keep the Magnum as their "Sport Tourer"!</P>


Make a sexy/sleek non-boxy 4-door sedan, and call it either Intrepid or Coronet (like the good old days)!</P>


And make the Charger the 2-door muscle coupe, like the 2004 Pontiac GTO, or 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept, or hell even that 1994 Dodge Venom Concept?</P>

about time on the 6.1L Hemi. Wow the Charger, but I liked that concept of the Charger. So is there any slightest clue of what it might look light? plus when is the NY Auto show?
