One of the first automotive design studios to open in California during the 1980’s will soon close its doors. Chrysler announced they will move all design responsibilities to their office in Auburn Hills, placing 20 employees of the Pacifica Advance Product Design Center out of work (or, at least, out of work with Dodge). Two of the best selling Chrysler/Dodge prototypes came out of their Carlsbad, California studio; the Chrysler 300 and 2009's Dodge Challenger. Company heads calls this closing “part of the ongoing consolidation of our North American business…”

I'm sure those guys have plenty of side gigs and other offers but it is still kind of a burn to be rewarded for your hard work and talent by getting canned due to budget cuts.
