Default Charger Exposed!!!

Looky looky, this information and pics aren't supposed to be available until the 9th, so enjoy (or not) while you can! You'll have to dig to find the pictures, but they're there... plenty of them... at least until they close access to it...

There's a pretty comprehensive word doc there. This information indicates an AutoStick 5-speed transmission, but says nothing about a manual. [:@]

from the document, stuff u might find interesting:

The target market for Dodge Charger includes trend setting, young affluent males with incomes from $65,000 – $90,000. Customers looking for the thrilling ride and handling characteristics of a sports car, but with the added convenience of a functional, five passenger vehicle, will be able to experience the best of both with the 2006 Dodge Charger

The 2006 Dodge Charger is available in seven exterior colors, including Bright Silver Metallic, Inferno Red Crystal Pearl, Brilliant Black, Magnesium Pearl, Midnight Blue Pearl, Cool Vanilla and Silver Steel Metallic.

Featured on all Dodge Charger models, a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick provides a full range of transmission performance to match a variety of driving styles, situations and road conditions. AutoStick offers the choice of a fully automatic or manual shift selection. This transmission is mated to both the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 and the 3.5-liter V-6 Charger engines to offer all Charger customers better performance and fuel economy.

The modern 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with MDS has been engineered to deliver outstanding performance, reduced noise, vibration and harshness, and improved fuel economy of up to 20 percent. This engine will offer Dodge Charger customers the legendary HEMI power they want with fuel economy they will appreciate.

Actually, I see the Duke boys kicking around in a 0-door, for all intents and purposes

Yes, the more I see this car, the more I like it, regardless of its name. I fully acknowledge that the name Charger inherently raises the expectation bar several notches... and in the beginning I was sickened by the new car. But I've grown out of that and for the most part, I think the new car kicks some serious tail.

Speaking of tails... the tail on this thing needs some help. The tailgate is too narrow, and it's too rounded across the top of the trunk. Makes the back end look narrow and dumpy instead of wide like it should look.

But all in all, this car looks pretty nice. I just wish it had a manual transmission offering. DCX is on a quest for 6-speed manuals, it's a shame they don't offer one in this car.

The rear 3/4 view of the car sitting on the track at Daytona is verrrrrrry nice IMO.

What a disappointment. WHY ...WHY...is the interrior THE SAME!!!!! as the Magnum? Is that what the production is going to be? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard or seen of. Why reserect a car and use the same interior for a same production car of the same year! Besides is it just me or does the back end look too much like a Mitsubishi Galant?

WHat do ya'll think?
