New info on Nissan's Ram-based Titan pickup
yeh I thought before that it was a great possibility that Chrysler would get pieced out and sold off to various companies when the take-over was completed... and it is happening but in a completely different way than I could have imagined. Instead ofJeep being sold off to the India guys, orselling out the Dodge SUVs and truck divisionsto GM somehow, or even selling off the actual technology to the foriegn companies, they are selling off the products they produce instead such as this truck deal. Whereas it does keep some of the jobsin building some of what may go over to the Nissan plant for them to finish with, the question is for how long? Will Chrysler simply have the components at some point shipped direct to the Nissan plant and end up bypassing Chrysler workers all together? This deal will definitely do nothing for helping the Dodge brand succeed by giving the competition the same tools to do battle with.
The TITAN doesnt measure up? In what way? I loved my 06 Titan. Towed9500 lbs, faster than a Ram 0-60, was built in America, as opposed to the new ones by DODGE being built in Mexico....the interior was ALOT nicer than that el cheapo 3rd gen Ram. Sorry, the 3rd gen Ram doesnt compare favorably in any way to a Titan. If youre one of those closed mindedblind loyalty guys, good for you.(I used to be one of those guys with Chrysler products) Theres a reason American car makers (esp. Chrysler) are hurting you know. Nobody ever says "I need a quality vehicle, get me a Chrysler product!" That just doesnt happen.I only know 2 guys with 3rd gen Rams, and theyve both had their trannys replaced. The only new trucks I would buy at this moment are a Titan or a Tundra.
Nowthe 4th gen Ram, thats a beautiful machine.

I'll say it again... If the Titan is such a great truck, then why are they having Dodge supply the main parts. 0-60 times don't mean **** when it comes to TRUCKS. I hate when I hear Titan owners go on about that. They aren't sports cars. Maybe Nissan is basing their Titan off the the Ram because it will be better in the truck categories...

Hemi in a Jap truck wtf!? Blasphemy!
Hemi in a Jap truck wtf!? Blasphemy!
Lets start off by saying how big of a blasphemy it is for that Charger/300/Challenger, that canadian Ice Head wanna be american car! They might as we be painted with a big red maple leaf on them. How dare they put a Hemi in a car from a worthless country like Canada? What has Canada done for anyone?

Ok, we wanna get technical. The Titan is built in America. The Ram 3500 is built in Mexico. The LX cars (Charger, 300C, Magnum, Challenger) are built in Canada.
Does that mean each of these vehicles are considered to be "from" those countries? Is the Titan American? Is the Ram 3500 Mexican? Is the Cahrger Canadian? No.
The Titan was designed by people working for the Japanese company, Nissan.
The Ram 3500was designed by the now 80% American company.
The LX cars were designed by an American company.
None of them are Canadian. lol
The only Ram made in Mexico is now the 3500, and it will soon be made in St Louis, according to a member here.

True, the Titan is built in America, providing American's with jobs. The Ram is not, (currently) providing the same jobs that the Titan is, and the LX cars are providing the Canadians with more income. And wasn't the Titan Designed in America? That is if you count any part of Cali as actually being in the same world the rest of us are. The point is, at least Nissan, Honda, And Toyota are not cutting 30k jobs in the united states. Or 60k, or 90k. And Honda Pumps tons of money into the US economy. As does Nissan, and Toyota. Granted so does Chrysler, and I do love Chrysler, don't get me wrong, im just saying that calling it a Jap truck is childish, considering that Jap truck provides jobs in America.
