2009 Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept
#2
I think this car would make sense as a production model. Not as a Disco Dan type car, but as a "Viper In Spirit" car. Since Viper is probably history, take a Challenger, strip the back seats out. Loose most of the heavy and useless plastic (such as the fender trim), lower body cladding and the worthless engine shroud (a useless Daimler carry-over). Pull out all of the floor insulation (leave the firewall insulation-fried feet no good) and put in vinyl flooring. Remove GPS, climate control, CD player, ABS, etc. Stuff the V10 in with a 6 speed manual. You would have to offer a few of the above mentioned as optioned or else all the dentists and podiatrists with the bad toupees wouldn't buy in, but make a beast of purpose. This could be sold for $50k and I'll bet would triple or quadruple what the Viper is selling now and you would have an instant classic that all the collectors would want and would make the $100k ZR-1 look like a sick child for half the money.
