Charger Daytona info
If anyone's interested, they've posted some sneak peeks of the Charger Daytona over at http://www.allpar.com/cars/lx/dodge-charger.html
And someone in the Allpar forums wrote this:
To summarize in a way I can't on the http://www.allpar.com/cars/lx/dodge-charger.html page -
1) Cheap sticker + rice spoiler package coupled with
2) The good optional performance suspension and
3) A high-flow exhaust good for ten horsepower
Nothing substantially new here, just some superficial appearance items, but it does get 10 extra ponies. And the blacked-out grille looks WAYYY better than the gaudy chrome grille in my opinion. However the R/T emblem doesn't look right in a grille that isn't the full width of the car (ala 68-70).
Rumors over there at Allpar say the Daytona price will be low 30k range. Your mileage may vary.

None of the insiders seem to be handing out any hints at all in reference to a manual transmission offering. I think it would be quite unfortunate if there is no manual in the plans. DCX has taken a 6-speed manual initiative on many other products, yet the newest Dodge "sport" model is strictly automatic? What's up with that?! I personally would prefer a manual over an automatic, especially in a Hemi car. Automatics are boring, and there's more stuff to go wrong inside them.
I wonder if maybe the traction control/stability control/whatever control is designed to work primarily with an automatic transmission? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Dodgeboy.net has some high resolution pics of the Daytona. I'd like to see this car in a Dark Blue or Plum Crazy Purple. Maybe some wider tires in the rear and some sportier rims too.
not bad..that in 2 doors would be nice
on the yellow one the front right wheel(our left)..it looks tilted in alot..or is that just me

Thats cool DC launches a Daytona edition, but there is just a problem, all the Chargers Daytona had 425+ power in the 60-70s and this one has 350. 0-60 in "just" 6 flat????? thats a little bit high!!! the SRT4 does that times and it is a 4!! this one is a V8! But the design is really great, so, I like even it doesnt has great performance
