Bet the people that went for that are pissed, with gas being under $2.40 in post places.

Btw, didn't think this belonged in brand news since I don't have an article...

You know, I was just wondering the same thing myself. Kinda sucks for those people.
But doesn't it include diesel trucks also? Can't remember if it did, but if so, at least they can use it.

It was good for diesel too. I saw gas today for 2.65. People could still benefit because the deal was for three years.

I bet this is what Chrysler was banking on when they did that deal.

No, if I remember right it excluded diesel and SRT vehicles.

"This offer consists of a specific number of price-protected gallons of fuel at $2.99 per gallon for regular 87 octane unleaded, E85, or diesel purchases" SRT, Viper, Chassis cabs were excluded. Found this on Dodge website by searching for the gas deal.

Gas won't be under 3 bucks for more then the winter, so I don't think people will be that pissed about it. And I don't think Chrysler lost too much, if anything, with the 2.99 gas guarantee as they were not running other promotions at the time, so the discount in fuel pretty much just took the place of other promotions they run. As the fuel thing was on a limited number of gallons.

if you actually did the math the 2.99 deal kinda sux. considering you forfeit all other incentives that on most vehicles at the time were netting more than 5 grand you were way better off taking 5g off the vehicle than 2.99 gas.
