Yeah, the 5.7L is up to 375HP with a stick in the Challenger. I would ratrher have that and get the lifetime powertrain warranty than to pay all of the extra money for a SRT8 and no warranty for only 50hp. A Predator and Magnaflow cat-back would about make up the power difference.

exactly, and thats why SRT has to have something in mind for their lineup. there is no reason to buy an SRT8 right now.

ive heard so much about the testing of this 6.5L engine (i mean 6.5, not the 6.4 crate motor) , i cant imagine that its for nothing.

with the viper gone, there is no flagship performance car, and the 425hp challenger, understated or not, doesnt get the job done.

No...you don't mean 6.5...there is no such thing. The SRT 6.1 will be replaced by the 6.4 that we have been running for a few years now.

No offense taken, but, how much more reliable do you need? I have run the 6.4 on the dyno. I currently run a dyno cell with a 5.7 in it, and the 2 dyno cells with the 6.4 in them are right across the hall. I occationally run these cells, and talk with the Engineers, and dyno techs often. And just to clear up any confusion, the 6.4 we are working on is NOT the "6.4 Crate Engine" from the Mopar Catalog! That engine was not developed within the walls of Chrysler. It was done by an outside firm (Arrow racing, I think).

Got any numbers that you can accidentally slip and post on the 6.4L?

Sorry dude...you'll have to wait...the #'s I get from a power run, and the #'s that get published a year from now, will probably be 2 different things. God forbid, if I quote a # now, and its 5hp different from what gets published, 14 people will be on here telling me how I was wrong!

so, being the insider are you saying that the 6.4 is in fact replacing the 6.1?
