I'm in Lubbock and have yet to see another '09 Ram.

Seen 2 of the new Fords.....

Also seen a few looks from 3rd Gen Dodge drivers watching me as I go by...

If I had to guesstimate I've seen 15 new Dodge Rams and 12 new Fords in the last 3 weeks or so here in Austin. I definitely get a lot of looks from 3rd gen'ers.

Until a week ago I had not seen another 09 on the road. However, in the last week I spotted 5 of them - All were CC or QC's.

It doesn't matter if its through a third party or not. If Chrysler were to stop production you wouldn't have a supply of OEM parts since the parts suppliers would stop making them to keep from building stock and losing money. Being the new Ram has only been out for a few months I doubt the aftermarket has started producing LKQ parts for it. In the end if the warranty company could not offer a repair due to a lack of parts they would give a refund (most likely pro-rated) for the warranty. We would be out in the cold, not just for the unlimited drivetrain warranty but any added coverage as well.

If Chysler went belly up, the Ram line would be sold to someone. It has higher value to it than other Mopar products. The parts business would also carry a big price. The tooling etc is not going away. The govt and Chysler would require the buyer of the OEM product lines to cover the warranty, most likely anyway.

That's true. The Ram line, the Caravan, and the Viper are the only things that carry any value. Well, I guess Jeep has some value too. They would all be picked off by a company or different companies. That's why I had suggested maybe Nissan would pick up the Ram since they had been in talks and VW might pick up the Caravan, some small manufacturer could pick up the Viper, etc.
