6.1 FOR TRUCK'S

RE: 6.1 FOR TRUCK'S
Also the trucks will not have the outrageous power of the SRT lineup, but instead the Ram Heavy Duty model will get the 6.1L configuration for a replacement of the deceased 8.0L (488CI) "MAGNUM" V-10. The 6.1L HEMI "MAGNUM" V-8 will only be available on the Ram Heavy Duty models. No word on an Ram SRT-8 or Durango SRT-8 anytime soon. I did hear word from one of my sources that the SRT group will be giving the Dodge Dakota the SRT makeover, with possible 6.1L HEMI V-8 power from the Dodge Magnum SRT-8, Dodge Charger SRT-8, Chrysler 300C SRT-8, and the Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Why the Dakota instead of the Durango? Simple, many former 1998-2002 Dodge Dakota 5.9L R/T owners are looking to replace their trucks w/ new affordable performance pickups. The Ram SRT-10 is out of the budge, when you are talking about simple power performance trucks. Look at either the SEMA show later this year, or the LA Auto Show in December to show us more about the performance of the new Dakota platform.

RE: 6.1 FOR TRUCK'S
Charger, Where did those prices you used above come from? Do you really think the Mustang will be 70K? Where will we be able to get a 450 h.p. Charger or even the 425 for $36K? Also, anyone know if all the 300 family SRT's will have the $2100?? gas guzzler tax or not? Did I read here the Magnum is enough like a truck it won't get it? Who knows?

RE: 6.1 FOR TRUCK'S
Actually the new mustang shelby gt500 is suppose to be around 36k and have over 450 horsepower. The charger on the other hand is going to be about 39k and have 425hp and 4 doors. Me thinks the mustang is going to be the better seller of the two (even though i would take the charger).

Yea the Furd is supposed to be this and supposed to be that, to bad the Charger is What it is, and Is already a Phenomenal vehicle and has about 4 times as much quality as that stang, that's where the difference is first off, 2nd the Charger is not in the same class as the stang, the stang is not only a POS compared to the Charger, the Charger is much bigger much safer and has much more room for passengers. Last but not least, the Naturally Aspirated 6.1 Hemi actually makes 450+ Horse Power at the Crank, and is much more stout and reliable than the Ford 4.6 SC
