Ferrari to share space with Dodge at NAIAS
This year was set to be the second year in a row without a designated Ferrari area at the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Hall but it looks like there may be some Ferrari’s on display after all. It was announced on New Year’s Eve by the Detroit News that Ferrari and Maserati will each have some cars on display in the area between Dodge and Jeep.
In the past few years there has been a big “dead space” between Dodge and Jeep so it makes great sense to stick some super high end European cars in that wasted space. Although it has not been stated exactly what models of Ferrari and Maserati will be on display, having these rare sports cars in an area otherwise unused in past years is a great move for the newly formed alliance between these companies.

Mopar announces Performance Appear Package for 2010 Dodge Challenger
The 2010 Auto Show is only days away now and although Dodge will be sharing space with its Italian cousin Ferrari (click here for more information on the 2010 Ferrari NAIAS news), we can expect a slew of dressed up Challengers in the Dodge display.
Last year, Dodge showed off a bright red 2009 Challenger wearing the familiar T/A scoop of 1970 and a body colored Go-Wing (shown below) and based on the images included with today’s press release (click here to view the announcement from Chrysler Media), they might be using the same show car for 2010. The difference is a set of “strobe” stripes running the length of the car – and the fact that this Performance Appearance Package is now available as a factory equipped option, saving 2010 Challenger buyers the hassle of purchasing and adding the parts from Mopar after receiving their new car. The price for the appearance package is listed as $1,995 and can be added to SE or R/T models in TorRed, Bright Silver Metallic, Brilliant Black Crystal and Bright White.

ive heard rumors that the next generation viper will have some ferrari input...but they dont want to make it too much towards the ferrari end of the spectrum because then they create inter-office competition and GM has shown us a few times, thats no good.
figure, Ferrari has a shot to get some bragging rights over Lamborghini. keep in mind, lambo had a heavy hand in the first design of the viper- completely designing the original V10 for the viper. Ferrari has a chance to make some changes and say that they 'built a better viper' than Lamborghini.
early on, it was assumed that fiat would kill the viper to clear out some of the competition for the ferrari lineup but theyve commented that it would see a next generation. i am hoping...almost predicting some sort of technological downgrade to the viper making it more closely competitive in price with the corvette lineup. im sure that some of you are thinking "they arent going to make the viper cheaper"...and while i dont expect to see a huge price cut, i think that one way that ferrari and the viper can separate themselves is by keeping a huge gap in price.
dodge could save themselves alot of money by powering the viper with a hemi..and we know that there are other hemis being tested that arent in any production vehicles.
a ferrari designed, big-hemi-powered viper (or whatever name they go with..im only assuming that it will be viper) will have no problem providing the power output of the V10 without the added build cost of the V10. you build the supercar hemi at the same plant as the current engines...this allows for less cost and less consumer cost...keeping a big gap between the ferrari and the dodge supercars.
