Dodge to build the 2011 V10 Challenger!!!!!
It is official as of this morning!
Mopar will build 70 2011 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak units, which is powered by the 512 cubic inch V10 from the Dodge Viper. Other than the specs on the drag pak option with the trans, suspension, etc...they didnt give any numbers. they mention unique tuning to the V10, but they dont say how much power it will offer. Maybe they will announce this tonight at the viper owners event and if not, I would expect more about it at SEMA. if they go with a tune similar to or more aggressive than what the ACRX offers, a 640hp challenger super stock model would get awfully close to the 9 second range...this car could be to the modern hp war what the 1968 hemi super stock cars were in those days...a limited edition, not street legal car that will be talked about forever.
The makes its private debut tonight at the Viper Owners Invitational and it will make its grand public debut at SEMA in Vegas.

Just saw this at work, beat me to the posting!
Ford has done the same thing with the Mustang, any word from the Chevy camp yet?
This will be a fun, possibly intense, class if the pro stock guys all start campaining cars.
