Chrysler and GM work together????
Chrysler and GM to develop new gas electric hybrids for models tahoe, yukon, and durango. For both front and rear drive applications. Announced by eric Ridenour and Tom stephens. The big three say they are no longer fighting over new developmental technologies, to compete w/ Europe and Asian automobile manufacturers but they are cooperating w/ asian and european manufacturers on other projects. Sounds kinda wierd to me.
Well, I've just skimmed over all my sources and not seen anything official... so I'm wondering if this is true or not. I'm still looking though.

No big surprise to hear of them working together. New Venture Gear started as a joint venture between Chrysler and GM. NV3500 and others are the same tranny for GM and Chrysler.

This is true, and its old news. The joint engineering center is in Ypsi at a GM facility. I remember seeing the job posts for that on the corporate internal boards. GM and Ford are also teaming up to build a new cvt style trans at the warren powertrain plant.

I thought I read some article a few months back that the U.S. Government gave DCX and GM research funds for developing hybrid and fuel cell technology. The catch was they had to be able to move the research into mass production and develop refueling stations across the nation to support the vehicles or pay back the funds.
