The Viper will never be a V8....however...I will say the prospect of a 6.1L supercharged V8 Viper would be very intriguing for me.....as I think you could bring the cost down and get more people into the car....I think they would cut into Vette sales even more.
To be honest, I've always felt the Viper was overpriced for the comparable performance you can get in a Corvette......this is also why I'm disgusted with the Chrysler Firepower....as I feel they are basically taking the Viper styling/framing and slapping the SRT-8 motor into it.

I hear all of you but......
....who would have EVER thought they'd stick a viper engine in a truck....
The question remains, has any one else seen the 'Dodge Life' I'm talking about?? I mean, the phrase "Dodege Viper SRT-8" HAS appeared in print, published by Dodge itself....that may mean it's true.

it wasnt exatly a viper engine it had iron heads and only made something like 300HP and 450ft-lbs, it was a work engine

I agree, but i think they should supercharge the 8.3 V10 instead. That would kick corvette sales in the crotch!
