That's a good point. Don't forget about the Caliber SRT-4 SUV and Durango SRT-8 SUV.

Dodge seriously needs a coupe. Stratus?

The only AFFORDABLE coupe Dodge has is the Stratus....but that's about to be eliminated next year. They're moving to a Stratus Sedan only mode.

That will leave Dodge without any AFFORDABLE coupes until the Challenger debuts. The fact is.....they need at least 2 coupes. Just about every MAJOR car company has a popular coupe or two. Those that don't, typically have something that makes up for it. In Dodge's case, they have the trucks. In Toyota, they are predominantly makers of affordable and dependable sedans.

Ford has the Mustang
Infiniti has the I35
Nissan has the 350Z and plans to bring out another coupe soon...
Chevy has the Cobalt SS/S, Monte Carlo, Corvette, soon to be Camaro
Dodge has the Stratus
Chrysler has the Sebring and Crossfire and soon to be Firepower
Mazda has the RX-8
Honda has the Accord and Civic
Acura has the NSX and RSX
Toyota doesnt have a coupe I believe, but as Lexus they have 1
Cadillac has the XLR (expensive, but cheaper then the Viper)


Those are just an idea of what's out there

But they do plan to use it as a rally car. So I think of it as a Focus... hatchback...

 

rally cars...because that sport is right up there in the american rankings...

 

thats how i see it also. i always thought of it and will continue to think of it as a hatchback.

 

The Stratus will most likely be changed to the Avenger with a 2 door available. With the Challenger, that will give them a decent coupe line up.

 

This is the first I've heard that the Stratus was going to change names to the Avenger. I thought and was kinda hoping this was going to be the Avenger:
