392 going into the Rubicon. WTH ABOUT THE 1500?!
I see that the 392 is going into the Rubicon. Sorry if that is old news. (to me that is kinda insane with it being a lighter vehicle with a high center of gravity. ...but that isn't my point here) Why aren't they putting that in the 1500's!?!?!? That's almost 100 more torgue to tow with. ...so the engine isn't working as hard. If they think that they would be impacting their 2500 sales... I would think that someone either wants the 1500 or the 2500 based upon their needs. But what do I know.
The whole idea behind a factory hemi in a jeep, is because the aftermarket has been doing it for years.
So, Fiat/Chrysler is going to cash in on that market. The V-8 version will be full-time four wheel drive, so the driveline doesn't have to be radically upgraded to deal with it. And, it will have the factory warranty. Win for the buyers, and a win for the sellers.
Aren't they already putting the same engine in the full sized trucks??
If you want insane, take a look at the new for '21 Ram 1500 TRX. A significantly upgraded 1500 with a 702 horsepower blown hemi.
