Would dodge bring the viper back as their "eMuscle" car?
Would dodge bring the viper back as an electric? If so how would the community feel about it? How would dodge go about doing it, and are there any signs they would? Is it something that's even possible? Or has the viper just been canceled altogether? Thanks for your opinions, it's always nice hearing from the community
It's just a matter of time before all cars are electric or zero emission. GM already plans to go zero emission by 2035 and I'm sure you seen the commercial for electric Mustang. I think the auto manufactures need to make something that would change the perception of electric vehicles. Something that has looks and performance to match. With a price tag that won't break the bank. Personalty i don't see this happening any time soon but eventually as battery technology improves the cost and weight go down and the infrastructure improves maybe.
Could dodge just be stalling certain production models because they secretly have no plans to actually roll these changes out? They could just be playing the game of delays in hopes regulations change. At this point im starting to believe it.

I guess the question I would have is, what is the body style going to be? If we're talking about making a coup, convertible, or roadster which by definition means two seats, traditional car configuration being the epitome of performance focus; then as much as I prefer them to be gasoline v10 powered, I could see the point of it as an electric vehicle since it would at least give Dodge a sports car again and the original definition of having a V10 is just not going to happen unfortunately. But if we're talking about doing what Ford did with the quote unquote mustang Mach e which is a four-door crossover, well let me think about this... No!!! If they want to make electric crossovers that are more sporty, they can do that if they want, but don't name it after a sports car or pony car or any other muscle coupe. Naming something after a sports car does not make it a sports car. I'm waiting for the day that people realize that a crossover in truth is no more cool than a minivan. It seems desperate to do such things. Keep the Viper name as a true Viper regardless of the powertrain type or don't do it.
