Car & Driver Says SRT-8 Grand Cherokee Loses vs Chevy SS?
Not to play devils advocate but car and driver usually base their decisions more on comfort rather than performance. This is just what I've noticed, it doesn't happen everytime but I know they do that a lot. My point is that you have to give Chevy their due and say that when it comes to a comfortable ride Chevy has got Dodge and Jeep beat.
Car and Driver DOES NOT GIVE OUT A TRUCK OR CAR OF THE YEAR AWARD, the magazine you are referring to is Motor Trend.

Actually I've found Motor Trend to be very good at keeping bias out of their decisions. However I agree that Car and Driver definately seems to have a bias towards anything made by BMW or Ferrari (I have never seen either of those companies lose a comparison test). So , I'm not saying their not biased, but using the Car of the Year thing to jump on Car and Driver wasn't a valid arguement. That's all I was trying to say.
Motor Trend is WORSE... They have a hard on for Asian cars... I remember a specfic "BANG for the BUCK" contest, and the Acura RSX beat out the SRT-4.... lol wtf?
yeah motor trend is BAD way worse then car and driver. and with car and driver, if they are promoting GM, more power to them, because at least it is an American company.
I base my decision on what the title of the article was. It ended up not being about performance and it turned into an article about comfort and utility. Plus!! The ESP CAN be turned off by holding the button down for 30 seconds. Hold it down for another 30 seconds to reset it.
That's a lot of biased B.S. The SRT-8 will kill the SS in handling or acceleration, while at the same time having a much better fit and finish, better component quality, better NVH, etc. What the heck is wrong with the stupid magazines!?!?!?
All Asian cars are starting to figure things out. This isn't the 60's anymore, where Honda is trying to catch up with Chevrolet, Ford, and dodge. All American cars had to really play catch-up to Japans cars during the 90's. Japan's cars are going after BMW and Benz. As for the SRT-8, yeah...there really isn't any competition for it. It's an awesome car. As for the RSX...it’s not fast but it is really fun to drive. You give it some better tires and it would have out handled the SRT-4. I have a SRT-4 and love my SRT-4 but I know that the RSX is designed to be a corner hoe. The SRT-4 is made to go just plain fast everywhere. I think we just need to be glad that the company we decided to support by buying their vehicles aren’t laying people off and taking retirement away from others.
Years ago I stoped getting All my other car mags. AutoWeek is the only one I ever need.
I'm still holding my breath, hoping that the Chrysler side of DCX does not lay off anyone this time around.
