Most people who drive the flex fuel vehicles don't even know their cars can take E85.
Completely wrong. The Caliber is selling great. It's hard for dealerships to keep them on the lot for more than a few days. Orders are backed up and customers are pissed cause their orders aren't coming through... DCX can't keep up with the demand... Check the stats first, I know you just hate it, lol...
As far as hybrids go, forget that hippie nonsense. Im for renewable fuels. Ethanol and Biodiesel are what I will burn if I want an enviormentally friendly vehicle. That way you dont feel like your being punished when driving a vehicle. Michigan is exploding with ethanol plants, and fortunately Im less than 5 miles from one being built. Plus, Ethanol and biodiesel also help the economy by supporting the farming industry. Hybrids are just a waste of electronic doodads and googaws. God I love grain gas.
My home state of Illinois would probably love the wide spread use of ethonal and biodiesel, since we grow a lot of corn and soybeans.
And I'm all for it. It's a great way to keep the basic engine and vehicle designs we have (read: no gay a$$ hyrids or super-ugly vehicles that have no *****), stop our reliance on Mid-East oil, keep the money in the US, AND help farmers. Also, supposedly its better for the environment when it burns, and, thus far, has seem to of sold for less than real oil. (I remember reading, when gas was like $2.25 a gallon, that a gallon of ethonal was "about a dollar a gallon less than regular gas," which would put it at $1.25 versus $2.25 for gas at the time).
Or, we can wait for the oil industry to see its "day of reckoning" (as former CEO of Exxon-Mobil said it would when he got his retirement a few months ago) to where gas prices go back to $1.20/gallon... ahahahah... lol... like that will happen anytime in the next 10 years.
