DETROIT (Reuters) - DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler unit said on Wednesday it will recall more than 145,000 Dodge Ram light duty pickup trucks to replace the passenger air bags.
"The passenger air bag may not be compatible with a limited number of rear-facing child seat models if the passenger seat is in the full forward position and an airbag deployment occurs," Chrysler said.
The automaker will also replace the front passenger seat belt assembly in the same model trucks and in an additional 15,151 vehicles.
The front passenger seat belt may not allow the owner to properly secure some child restraint systems, the automaker said.
Chrysler will also recall more than 35,000 Dodge Durangos to check their console wiring connectors.
"In these vehicles, if liquid is spilled from the cup holder onto the console wiring connector, this could result in a high resistance short circuit with the potential for fires," the company said.

well when i read the title i was worried cuz i own a ram but since i dont have kids and aint planning on it anytime soon i guess theres no need for me to get it checked out.
I like the way it says "will recall more than 145,000"... Like it's a lot... lol compared to other companies recalling millions of vehicles...

Which generation Durangos are they referring to? I assume 2nd generation?

Good to know Dodge cleans up their messes in a timely manner and doesn’t wait a decade before solving the issues.

Right like the ball joint mess on dakotas and durangos. Or the constant lift-gate recalls on the minivans as old as 1991's. We all have our problems. We sell fewer vehicles, therefore we have fewer to recall.
