3.5L HEMI V-6 TEST ENGINE FOR SALE:
Supposely Chrysler Group made a statement that they had no intention to produce a HEMI V-6 engine. However, look at what was found on ebay this morning. Someone is selling a 3.5L HEMI V-6 test engine from Chrysler. Could this lead to a production HEMI V-6?

he's going to have a hard time selling an engine that never went into production (as of yet), he doesn't know if it runs or not, and he has no history with e-bay (first time seller).
Still it looks interesting enough and I'll watch the auction, just to see if it does sell.

I read about this. They were working on a 3.7 and a 3.5 HEMI V6, the 3.5 actually outperformed the 3.7 and the 3.7 was just too big to go into any kind of van or passenger car, or even the dakota I believe. Secondly, after Nissan unveiled a 250 HP v6 in one of their vehicles, I read that chrysler was working on a 4.0L 24V V-6. So this could be the real deal, popping out 250 lb/ft of torque or something to that effect.
No 4.0L V-6 is coming out by Chrysler, but Ford is making one. Chrysler's 3.5L HO V-6 already has 255 horsepower and 250 ft-lbs of torque. As far I everyone I seem to talk to, no 3.7L HEMI V-6 has been tested, we did hear of this engine a few years back in the rumor mill... but it looks like it wasn't a rumor now!

Oh when I mean Ford is making one, i don't mean the one in Rangers and Explorers, I mean they are working on a whole new engine program... however Ford has plans to release a new 3.5L V-6 similar to Chrysler's for the Ranger and Explorer models in the next year.

Interesting. I would like to see what the HP/Torque results would come out of a hemi based v6 engine. Be nice to see around 275-300 lbs of torque and anything above 250 hp. If this engine can put out as much or more than what their current 4.7's make, this would be a ideal replacement engine. Problaby save on gas as well.
I heard that this guy selling this engine is not too faithful and last time i checked someone fell for it and placed a bid.......this will be interesting....

I've heard that a 4.0 is coming, but it might be a redo of the current inline six. It is suppose to be built at trenton engine. I have no idea of output numbers. Also remember the current 3.5 says it has more horse than the current 4.7 but I know for sure my 4.7 ram takes my pacifica any day of the week. Remember it is all about torque. Also the 4.7 is going to be redone (hemi perhaps?) and get somewhere in the 300 horse and 350 torque.

The 4.0L "PowerTech" I-6 will be phased out completely and will be taken over by the 3.7L "PowerTech" V-6 found in the Liberty. Chrysler Group has no intention of making another 4.0L I-6 as far as I know and the people I talk to know.

Ok! We have all heard rumors about a smaller hemi. But this guy is either really smart in trying to sell a 02-up 3.5l H.O. engine as a Hemi or really stupid in trying to get a prototype engine out there before chrysler does! I have seen dozens of wrecked 300M's Concorde's and Intrepids with that motor in it! As far as I can tell it's a 3.5L H.O. engine without an Upper Intake!
