Ram News
I'm sure that the next Ram will have excellent styling as it has in the past. I'm a current Ram owner and have a new one on order. That said, the new Toyota deserves a bit of respect. The company is an excellent auto builder and this time around has really captured the essence of what the pickup owner is looking for. I saw the new Tundra at the Chicago auto show this last February and I must say that I was impressed with both the styling and the thought that they put into the product. I still bought another Dodge, but the new offering will open a few eyes. It's much better looking in person.
the power wagon had a aerodynamic cab design the way its shaped looks so cool!!! thats what i was asking viper4sale about the concepts he had see if the cab design looked anything like it

With the Rampage styling it looks like a Honda Ridgeline...I like the looks of the front end of the Rampage, but I dont like the cab or the box. They need to lengthen the box, and raise and straighten the cab. I dont know if I like the look of the Power Wagon; its a big exaggeration of the current Ram, and I think they (Dodge) are getting away from the MACK truck look.
I dont remember what the tailights looked like so much on the concepts which probly means they looked OK... I do remember it having a giant ram's head emblem on the tailgate like on that rampage though! Also from what I rememember it seems as though the rear doors were the same size as the front doors(all 3 of the concepts were 4-doors) and that the rear seat area was a bit bigger along with the rear door window being bigger but it didnt look like a mega-cab with that extra area on the c-pillars. All 3 trucks had the dual exhaust tips with each tip having its own cutout on each bottom side of the bumper. One of the concepts did resemble the powerwagon concept but only from the front fenders forward. I say resemble in the manner that it looked kinda like that but they widened and flattened out everything so it was a bit more acceptable. It looked nothing like the other 2 concepts which were more similar to each other with the exceptions of different grill treatments, different side styling cues like the placement of body lines, different tailgates, and the curve the rear of the cab takes to the rear window. All 3 of the concepts were the same color as my truck, the bright silver with chrome 20's and dark grey interiors.
Its been since January of this year since I have seen them so my memory is not fresh. So thats about all I can recall.
You would think that surely by now someone else would have seen these trucks at other "events" like the one that I went to or spotted one outside the design studios or around chrysler headquarters or in some fenced-off backlot somewhere...

yall know i agree that toyotas new design does resemble dodges. in some way the new f150, chevy, and nissan titan resemble it too. dodge made a good looking truck and it became a popular design so other companies followed it. if you look at the new toyotas, they still retain some characteristics of the older ones and the new fords and chevys still retain some characteristics of their older bodystyles. generally speaking trucks have always loooked about the same. in the 80s dodge started doing something different with their design that made their trucks stand out more. since then dodge has always been leading the way in new body style designs and everybody else follows. i wouldnt say they copied our design unless it was just ungodly close to our design. the toyota above has some resemblances to a dodge but its not so close that i would say they copied our design. sorry if this is a rant im just tired of hearing people say "they copied our design" for every single new truck unveiled. they took a few styling cues from dodge and thats it. so what if they have a 5.7 liter engine? its not a hemi and chevy had a 5.7 liter engine for decades (the 350) and you dont hear chevy boys complaining about how we "stole" their engine. there is no patent on engine size. but the 5.7 hemi, the old chevy 5.7 and the new toyota 5.7 are gonna be extremely different engines, both in the hp and tq numbers and in the design of the engine. if the engine badge is in the same spot, so what??? ford has had their badges in the same spot for years and dodge just started putting their badge in that location in 06. also in 07 dodge went to a new badge design that resembles fords design a lot if you ask me. i believe ( i might be wrong ) that they took the ram 1500,2500,3500 badging off the door and made a badge on the fender (same as fords) that says 1500 and then says hemi (if it has a hemi) and the trim level of the truck i believe. sort of like the ford emblems that say F150, 5.4Triton v8, XLT Lariat. but nobody says anything like "dodge copied fords idea" if every company did everything their own way without borrowing ideas then we would never move forward. one company might create something thats a good idea but it might take another designer or engineer at another company that borrows the idea to refine it and make it even better.
