06 Charger-What will it look like??

Thank you harcourtmudd, yes it is the new 2005 Dodge Dakota. For more information on the 2005 Dodge Dakota, look in the Dodge Dakota forum on this site, I have posted tons of information on it on the top of the page, or to see more pictures, simply CLICK HERE:

Question for you Bob, what do you think of a Dodge Charger coming out next year that would have a shark-nose or look similar to the photoshop work done by 58Hawk over at allpar? I don't really like a complete turn from aerodynamics by making a car that looks like that. The open grills were awful for aerodynamics on the chargers of old. If they're gonna make a charger with a shark nose like that, why not just remake the old charger with new guts and enjoy the fantastic, ensuing sales (satire of course, although...). Also, what are your thoughts on how a shark-nosed vehicle would fit into the aerodynamic template for NASCAR next year?
I know it won't be...but I find myself falling in love with the '99 concept more and more as the pictures get posted in anticipation of the new Charger.

This is the lastest I have heard from a guy who works at the plant...
"Last week, I saw the charger in body shop. I was walking around to talk to a friend who works there and I saw 30 of them hidden in between inventory shelves. A peice of paper was also taped to them saying 2006 charger. I had to run out of their fast cuz a security gaurd saw me. Apparently they are made at midnight when no one is in the plant by some employees.
The second occasion is golden. The car was parked near our line. I have only seen the body with no panels (skeleton) so I will tell you what it looks like so I hope u have good imaginations.
Doors- not the same, more round, curved, rear door window at the end is a triangle point not at a 45 degree angle. door handles are not handels. the rear door line where the window meets, curvers upward before it finishes, giving it a unique design. Body panels-more lines and more square! Front-looks like the new mustang kind of. hood has lines on it.
Rear- larger lights than the 300/300c, more square, looks like the mitsbishi galant lights. rear decklid is more square with a line throught the centre.
Windows- rear window is larger than 300, front window is larger like the intrepeid's. door windows are larger with the curve with the door line at the rear.
The major thing is that it has different doors, windows, panels, and so on. it looks agressive and sport at the same time.
Hope someone can make a drawing from what I have told you because getting a picture is too difficult at the time. Let me know if anyone needs more clrification cuz my description may be too unclear."
Going to still have to wait to hear or see more about the 2006 Dodge Charger.
Also NOTE: remember NASCAR and the big-3 are all working on new 2006 NASCAR Cup and Busch cars, which will be boxy, bigger, and have a not so great areo package. This will make the car look more like the production cars, which Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge plan on having on the road by 2007. Also this will allow for more old school racing, punching huge holes in the air, to bring back moves like the Slingshot Pass! So no worries, just remember, how much does the current Intrepid and Taurus NASCAR stock cars look like their production models?

So far from what it seems like, is that my photoshop Magnum SRT-8 based Charger, isn't too far off. But expect more of a raked windshield, and a little more areodynamic body!

Actually, RRBob, no offense but that description sounds very little like your photoshop piece -- for one thing, it's a four-door not a two door. The front end of your mocked-up Magnum does not look like the front end of the new Mustang. You did get the pointed side-windows down, so kudos for that.
Here's the rear-end of a Mitsu Galant:

Not real sexy.
I hope the Charger is something beefy, beastly and muscled, but I'm rapidly loosing my faith... [X(]

Here's my photoshop attempt at what it might look like. I'd like to see the original Charger roofline. I heard It's going to be a four-door. I've lowered the suspension, added some detail to the side (think Viper) and opened the grill a bit. Version two has chrome accents to reflect the early chargers. And of course, it's got to be painted in radical 70's colors.

i think i don't care for that new dakota all that much. those brake lights are too much like the jeep liberty which i can't stand. that front bumper cracks me up though. it looks like a pouting child with his lower lip shoved out. i guess other that that i doesn't look all that bad. actually, looking again, i wouldn't mind owning one, i'd just have to swap out the brake lights and front bumper before i could be seen in public with it. in my opinion, a car/truck should appear to be gloating, not pouting.
