06 Charger-What will it look like??
ORIGINAL: redriderbob
This is the lastest I have heard from a guy who works at the plant...
"Last week, I saw the charger in body shop. I was walking around to talk to a friend who works there and I saw 30 of them hidden in between inventory shelves. A peice of paper was also taped to them saying 2006 charger. I had to run out of their fast cuz a security gaurd saw me. Apparently they are made at midnight when no one is in the plant by some employees.
The second occasion is golden. The car was parked near our line. I have only seen the body with no panels (skeleton) so I will tell you what it looks like so I hope u have good imaginations.
Doors- not the same, more round, curved, rear door window at the end is a triangle point not at a 45 degree angle. door handles are not handels. the rear door line where the window meets, curvers upward before it finishes, giving it a unique design. Body panels-more lines and more square! Front-looks like the new mustang kind of. hood has lines on it.
Rear- larger lights than the 300/300c, more square, looks like the mitsbishi galant lights. rear decklid is more square with a line throught the centre.
Windows- rear window is larger than 300, front window is larger like the intrepeid's. door windows are larger with the curve with the door line at the rear.
The major thing is that it has different doors, windows, panels, and so on. it looks agressive and sport at the same time.
Hope someone can make a drawing from what I have told you because getting a picture is too difficult at the time. Let me know if anyone needs more clrification cuz my description may be too unclear."
Going to still have to wait to hear or see more about the 2006 Dodge Charger.
Also NOTE: remember NASCAR and the big-3 are all working on new 2006 NASCAR Cup and Busch cars, which will be boxy, bigger, and have a not so great areo package. This will make the car look more like the production cars, which Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge plan on having on the road by 2007. Also this will allow for more old school racing, punching huge holes in the air, to bring back moves like the Slingshot Pass! So no worries, just remember, how much does the current Intrepid and Taurus NASCAR stock cars look like their production models?

Here's the link to the entire article, complete with some drawings. If that's what it's going to be, I'm underwhelmed. Not much more than a massaged 300C; so far, DC execs are adamant that it's going to be a four door as well. Another bonehead move, in my opinion.........
