I hope They can keep it going. When everyone was saying how Chrysler fell out of the top three last year i felt Ford will be at A bigger risk of falling out of the top three if all the new Chrysler products would kick off and sell well.

Read the whole article though. Chrysler didn't gain much, ford just fell. By their own doing. They like GM has already done are cutting fleet sales big time. To help with brand image. Who cares how many cars you sell if your not making any money on them. Chrysler is a prime example of this. Enterprise is our largest source for dumping rams and dakotas. They really push them with them. Ever check the resale value on a ram? It sucks. My 05 that stickered at 36000 is now worth 16000 on trade. Its only got 9000 miles on it. In two years 20 grand? That's nuts.

The only true winner in this story is the Asian car companies. They keep getting more of the share, while the big two and chrysler keep losing, or just hanging on to what they had.

And it's bad that Ford fell and we took their spot? We're still top 3!

SHAPman, Don't lose sight of the fact that resale has NOTHING to do with sticker or suggested retail price. Resale has to do with actual sales price , before taxes. Now what was the price you paid before taxes? Consumers base thier purchase price of used vehicles on the realistic new sale price, current new pricing and the glut of used trucks on the market because of "great deals" on new trucks and all the trade-ins.

When I bought it, the employee price with rebates was 24500. But remember most people don't get emp price. That alone was 4000 dollars. So either way you look at it the resale on a ram blows. The average customer would have paid 28500 for that truck. So in two years and 9000 miles its would have dropped 12500. That is still too much.
