2009 Ram Pickups

RE: 2009 Ram Pickups
Well I like the sound of everything except for the styling. I LOVE the "big rig" look and thats why I like the Ram because of that. It just looks so damn sexy on the Ram. If they do use the PowerWagon concept from a few years back (2001?), I hope they usea good percentage of it. I love the look of it except for the headlights. The Rampagedesignis nice and hopea large percentage is also incorporated into the new Ram. The (Ram)page, I think, wouldlook extremely nice on a larger scale.

I hope dodge does not make Cummins cut off 2 cyliders from their current engine, because it would be a 4 cylinder diesel. The Cummins diesel is not a V8, it is an Inline 6. The 2009 Rams are suppose to have a smaller diesel availble in the 1500 models making between 270-300hp and 450-475 lbs ft of torque. The curerent 5.9 liter Inline 6 makes 325 hp and 610 lbs ft of torque. Soon the new 6.7 will be avilble in the 2500 and 3500 making 350 hp and 650 lbs ft of torque.

RE: 2009 Ram Pickups
I hope they don't screw up the styling! I read that they want to get away from the cartoonish lookthat trucks (Tundra) are getting these days, but away from the big rig style would be too radical of a change for me. The Rampage is nice but as it's own vehicle, and I hope the blocky front end design doesn't carry on to a production Ram. To me it would make them boring and blend in with every other truck out there.
Don't know if this has been posted yet; couldn't find a story behind it either.

RE: 2009 Ram Pickups
Strong sources at my work place are saying that the 2009 Ram will be a total suprise and it's powertrain will be nothing like any other rumors have said (Meaning that there may not be a 6.1 Hemiin the truck.) As is with past trends Dodge always pulls something totally unexpected out of it's sleeve, there is no reason that the 2009 Ram won't fall victim to this tradition. Remember that Dodge was working on the 5.7 Hemi nearly Five years before it's release. Be on the lookout for possibly a 6.4 Hemi to replace all Srt-8 Models and be introduced into the 2009 Ram. The underlaying Goal of the Challenger was to get feedback on it's 6.4 (392 ci)Hemipowertrain, this may possibly be a test to see how well it will work in the 2009 Ram.

RE: 2009 Ram Pickups
I was talking with a rep from dodge (i'm close to the guys at my dodge dealer) and he was talking about a 6.4l HEMI that they were going to come out with in the 2009-2011 area. He was also saying it would possibly replace the viper engine, getting rid of the V10 and going strictly to V8. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen, with the way gas prices are going up, switching the Viper to a V8 might be better for sales.
