Thats got to be a dog. My little neon has a 2.0L, a older heavy car like that with a 2.6? I would suggest a transplant, like a v-8 or somethin.

Since it is a 2.6L Mitsubishi, you might look into swaping it out for the 2.6L turbo found in the Chrysler Conquests and Mitsubishi Starions or possibly converting it to a V8.

It actually is lighter than u think if it isnt lighter than a neon it is damn close. And it has a five speed behmind it thats why i love it but was just looking to give it a lil extra power, but it seems like everything has to be custom built.

Most think '74 was the last year and it kinda was, but they brought the name back in the late 70's-early 80's on one of the, if not the first Mitsubishi built for Chrysler use.

Here's a '79 Challenger pic. Plymouth had a version called the Sapporo. Both were Mitsubishis.

Found the picture on a site that sells original brochures.... it's the front cover of the sales brochure for that and the Arrow; I just cropped the Arrow off the pic. The original is attached, if you like it. As far as parts, I did a Google search for '79 Challenger and there were some vendors that popped up, but I don't remember a lot of the specifics on them. I can't imagine that parts are to easy to come by for a 25+ year old Mitsubishi! Try that, but a word of caution, most of the hits you will get will be for '70-'74 Challengers, obviously. You will just have to spend a little time wading through them to find what you want or need. If you need engine parts, the 2.6 was used in a lot of vehicles- have you tried a Mitsu dealer? Junkyards I would think could be a source as well, since a lot of Chrysler small cars and pickups of that vintage used the 2.6 as well. Good luck with the hunt!
