At a little over 630 HP, a 426 Hemi is almost stock. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley36.gif border="0"> Chrysler rated it at 425 HP due to sky rocketing insurance rates, however the pros(race car drivers of every form of auto racing) said it was over 500 HP. There were also the factory built Hemi powered race cars(I cannot recall the exact #, but I know they were over 600 HP), they had stickers that said the vehicle was for off road acceleration time trial use only and that they had 0 warranty. And don't forget what is in every top fuel dragster, Hemi's in the 5,000-7,000 HP range. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"> <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>71ROADRUNNER</editID><editDate>38003.2649421296</editDate></edited>

Yeah the old school Hemi's are the <IMG src=smileys/smiley35.gif border="0">! Its hard to beat them. I helped my olderbrother do his '69 barracuda with a 426 Hemi and 4 speed course it was bored 30 oversolid lift cam 590 or 630 crane, can't rember now. But it was super charged, ported and balanced all the goodies. When the dyno craze came in a few years backhe was already knocking 8.80's at the track(No wheres near street legal car), He went to get it dynoed there were all these ricers there with 200 - 400 hp motors then he did his turn and in three pulls made over 1000hp with out nitrous, the owner of the dyno told him if he broke it he owned it...lol. Been thinking about a hemi for the roadrunner but think ill go with the 440+6. I would like to find a 68 charger and put a crate Hemi into that. That would be wild, paint it black just like the one in bullit.

I would like to have clones of all movie and TV Mopars, especially the Turbo Interceptor from "The Wraith" and the Challenger R/T from "Vanishing Point". <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>71ROADRUNNER</editID><editDate>38004.3366203704</editDate></edited>

All of the Phantasm movies have a black Cuda. In 1&2 it's a '71 Cuda, and in all the others it's a '70 Hemi Cuda convertible. They told the people in charge of doing up the cars that if they could make the Hemi look perfectly original, they will make sure to work an engine shot into the movie, which they did indeed do in Phantasm 3. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"> Unfortunately, only the first Phantasm and Phantasm OblIVion(4) are available on DVD. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>71ROADRUNNER</editID><editDate>38010.3961458333</editDate></edited>

Nice project for sure. But before you get too deep, would you mind posting the first 7 aplhanumberic digits from the VIN please. There are several items on this car that concern me about its authenticity as an original 6bbl runner. The 5th digit of the VIN should be an "M" and on the fender tag there should be an A12 stamping.

Yes, definately gotta check the VIN #'s to make sure it is what it's supose to be. If it is a #'s matching car the engine and the transmission will have the last part of the cars VIN # on the right side of the block at the bottom above the oil pan rail. <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

Default RE: My New RoadRunner project car.

In good shape or not that car is going to be a long resto. Still make an awesome clone with awesome looks and I'm sure your going to put a decent engine in it so it will have power to boot!!
Whats he asking?
