Default transmission interchange question

Is a 904 out of an 86 chrysler fifth avenue going to be a bolt in replacement for the 904 out of my 72 coronet? I have an opertunity to buy one, but I am not certain if I will have linkage issues. Thanks

Aaron

I don't know for sure, but my suspicion would be that physically they may bolt up, but that the '86 may have electronic programing and perhaps even balanced differently than earlier versions. Just my gut if I were in your shoes...

If it is a 904 then it will bolt up. you didnt mention what motor you have. If you have a 360 and the doner trans comes off of a 318 car then they are balanced differntly ...assuming you have the same engine in both then there is no problem. Goodluck.
