Default Wiring of dash gauges - help needed again

I am trying to restore, my 66 Charger.
Problem: Most of the wiring to all of the guages are disconnected.
It is a puzzle, someone along the way disconnect the guages.
Fuel, temp, alt, tach, oil the only thing that works is the speedometer, which i had to buy a new cable and installed.
I am lost on this, the service manual is not much help, i am confused.
There is one heavy guage wire on the terminal for the fuel guage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

I don't know '66's that well at all, so take this with a grain of salt...

But, your alt or amp gauge should have a heavy red positive wire and a similar black lead. If the gauge is being bypassed, you may find these two connected to one another to make a complete circuit.

The tach wire in later years (68+) was brown wire...again, not sure for '66.

Your best bet is to look at another Charger, I know, easier said than done. Check on *******.com tech boards too.

Good luck
