1969 Dodge Charger: Bad Coil?
i have a 1969 dodge charger 383 and one day tried to crank it and wont start. i just drove it a week before. i am getting fuel and everything else is fine just wont fire. unless its a vacuum leak, im thinking its the coil. i have an aftermarket tac hooked up to the coil and when i crank the engine the needle goes down counterclock wise. it should be going clockwise if their is spark cause itll read the rpms when the starters cranking the engine right? i already pulled the coil and tested it with a multimeter and these are the numbers i got:
primary is at 2 ohms which i think is the problem and the secondary is at 10,860 which i think is good. then i reconnected it and pulled one of the wires and exposed the tip, held it close to then ex. manifold and no spark im pretty sure its the coil. thanks for any help you can give me.
ballast resistor is at 0.8 ohms when unplugged from car
