Default 1971 Charger Superbee 383M 727A

My dad had this car and it was totalled in 1980 by him, after he sold it to my cousin (Cousin=drunk, my dad drove w/o his glasses). The car hit a 90º turn at 65mph and rolled several times after hitting the guard rail. Everyone was wearing a seat belt and no disfiguring injuries happened to the 4 occupants. However, his back has been trouble every now and then as a result

I was wondering about how much a solid Superbee with the same options of 383 Mag and 727 Auto would cost nowadays. I am getting ready to sell a 1998 Camry and will make 3g in profit, with a total bank of $8,000 to spend after sale. It was his first car and he remembers it fondly. If I could find a pristine one I might even sell my Triumph to make it possible, as it could fetch me a good $5,000 (appraised at 6500).

I haven't seen enough 1971 models to really know what the average going price is. Depends on condition. A friend of mine was selling his and his asking price was $23,000. Here's the pic. Wish I could help more.

A pristine example will probably run in the mid-20's. A decent solid complete original needing some basic resto work will probably run in the mid-teens. They aren't that plentiful- only 5034 of all engines were built in '71. There is one for sale in this months Hemmings, description says it's a solid southern car in need of restoration, engine currently out of the car, for $5500. That's probably as a good a deal as you'll find these days on anything restorable.
