Found 67 Charger
Ok, I'm new to the Mopar world but I thought I'd come in here for some advice. I found a Shell of a 67 Charger. has the front susp and rear axel still attached but the rest of it is gutted. All the gutted parts are in a pile in the nearby garage. Glass, dash, what was left of the cracked 440 block, seats, etc. the car has some surrface rust with isn't my worry. The worry i have is the deep rust. What do i need to look for on this shell that would tell me if its good or not? the usual floor rust is preasent but everything else looked like surface rust. The catch is.... the guy said if i want it, just to take it. it wants to just get rid of it. for FREE. Delema.. is it a hastle or worth it?
thanks.

FREE? Do you REALLY need to ask??!! Even if it turns out to be unrestorable, the parts alone could be sold off for 2K or so. As long as the rockers and frame rails are solid, it could be restored without too much expense and hassle. You also said a 440- is it an original 440 car? If so, that increases the value considerably. Check the VIN- if the 5th character is an 'L', grab it!
Good info to know... i actually found a spot where i can store it for like 30-40 bucks a month. I'm probably gonna pick it up regardless. But if its an orig 440 car i guess i can't just Mad Max it out with strange pipes, no interior, and flat black paint. LOL. What'd I'd like to know is any spots that are prone to rust that i need to really look at and focus upon when inspecting it.
Trunk floors, rockers, lower fenders and quarters, are some places to check. The rockers would be the most difficult to repair if they're badly rusted. The frame in the rear should be checked as well. The floor pans, lower quarters and extensions are all available as repros. Anything else you'd have to find parts off a parts car.
