Default '69 RT Charger

I just purchased a '69 RT Charger. I will probably have many questions but first, is there any way to tell if it has the original engine? The guy I bought it from is in his 40's and bought the car when he was 17. He "guarantees" it has the original engine and tranny. The rear end was replaced but I did get it with it as well as the original rims. I am inclined to believe him but would like to be sure. Thanks

The VIN serial number should be stamped into the engine block, on the right (passenger) side, just above the oil pan. That's the last 6 numbers of the whole VIN; should also be on the fender tag as well. It will also appear on the right front side of the transmission case; it will be stamped someplace in the upper portion of the radiator support; and under the left side trunk weather strip. Check those locations and let us know how you make out!

All the numbers except the tranny match and they are there. Looking for build sheet today.

Old post, but the R/T would only have a 440 or the 426 Hemi in it.
