coronet advice
I just bought a great coronet that ran like new(after messing with the timing for a lil while). Not knowing anything about it i took it off that guys hands for a hefty $500.this car is clean needs paint ,floor plans and seats. when we started looking at this car we took off the pass. valve cover to see that they were "x" heads. so we assumed it was either a 340 or a 360. i was told thats what "x" heads came on. so when we got it home we thought we would light them up to see if it had possi. and it sure did. so i pulled a part the motor to find out it was a 318. i have nice plans for the car and motor but i would like to hear some of your advice.
Hey ask if it is the original block!!!
post some pics of the car, is it a 2 or 4 door? year? etc.
If it is the original block i would either:
1) rebuild the motor getting it bored out and and the like, then put it back in the car. Whilst using the car as a weekend driver.
2) Take it out, set it aside and put in a crate 440 RB or short block. Then drive it around as a daily driver. This way you dont blow or put mileage on your little time capsule
That just my two cents but it is fully on the hands of the driver.
