Charger SRT-8 That thing got a Hemi? Indeed, a 6.1L Hemi that is. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 pounds the pavement with severe power.

Default 2010 Dodge Charger SRT8

Where can I find more sneak preview info on the 2010 Dodge Charger SRT8? I am currently leasing an 2007 Dodge Charger RT but will either purchase my current charger and mod the heck out of it or purchase a new 2010 Charger SRT8. I leanig towards trading in my RT for an SRT8 in 2010. I just want to know that the awesome SRT8 will be available in 2010. If I am going to trade in my RT....I will drive it on the salt infested MN winter roads. If I am going to keep my RT.....I will continue to drive my Dakota duing the winter.

Pleae help me see into the future
Thanks in advance

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't believe there is any official word on the Charger's status come 2010. I would think they will have a replacement for it, as the the Charger has been so successful, but seeing as in Dodge is kinda in dire straights right now, anything could happen. Why not just go ahead and get a used one now???

Because the penalties on breaking the lease early are harsh (to my understanding). I am only about six months into my lease....I know now that I should have just held out for the SRT8....not to say that I dont love my R/T. If I was rich I would keep my RT and get an SRT8 to MOD OUT.

If there are not new 2010 SRT8 models that I like....I will go for a 2008 Superbee SRT8 or Steel Blue Metallic SRT8.

I drove my RT twice this week....first time since the witner really started and my car is covered in nasty salt....I feel like I have commited a crime

^ Yeah, you probably should have just waited and bought an SRT-8. You may have missed your opportunity to buy one new. And you could've bought a used one for probably about the same as what yours costed. Have you driven an SRT-8 model??? I used to think I wanted an R/T or a 300C, until I drove one. And after driving an SRT-8 car, I must say, it's like a different car. I wouldn't even begin to consider one w/ the 5.7 in it now. I personally wouldn't mind trading up to a Magnum SRT-8 for my next family car.....

That is what's sad....I have not even driven an SRT8 yet....but I know I want one I guess I will have to really do some hardcore homework before I purchase a used SRT8. My concern is if the previous owner pounded on it too hard. My wife (mmtaylor) and I are going through a simular situation with her 2005 Magnum RT....we bought it used in Sep 2007 and now are finding many clues it was pounded on pretty hard. We are repairing / replacing things as they come up. Just a shame that it was not taken better care of.

Told you. I wasn't too impressed when I first drove the 5.7 Hemi cars, but after driving the SRT-8's, they feel positively mundane and meek. Dodge def got it right w/ the SRT-8. My frined has an '07 Charger SRT w/ mods, and that thing is absolutely badass....

If I had to haul a family around a RT or SRT Charger would be my choice.

One thing to keep in mind, they have a redesigned 5.7 for the Ram in 09, 380HP and better MPG. I would assume other models will also get the refreshed 5.7.

^ Yeah, I would say that's a safe bet. IMO, Dodge needs to do a little refreshening w/ the LX cars. Maybe some subtle styling changes, better suspension and steering feel. It'd make for a much nicer package I think....

You can say that again. I was amazed at the difference really. Not only was the power just miles ahead, the handling was quite noticable too, not too mention the looks.
I was looking at both(used) and the '07 R/T was only $3500 less money but a year newer...so instead of kicking myself later(much like you are unfortunately), I just bought the SRT8.

$27000 for the '07 R/T< $30500 for the '08 SRT8

I'll probably regret it later when I have to replace those expensive Brembobrakes though. [&o]
