I ordered a Magnum SRT on June 1st and got my VON. Just spoke to him about getting my VIN but he said no joy yet and couldn't tell me about the kicker problem. I said I'd happily not have the kicker but did want the security option which I'm sure you know is part of the same option package. He said sometimes the factory would call about stuff like that but they hadn't yet. What is the rest of the 800#? and what does DCX stand for? FYI I got mine for $300 over FWP! and great forum. Very useful.

You can delete the Kicker and still get the other two options if you want to speed up the order. I actually changed the tires and the sound system on my car with no problems that I know of.
Here is the 800# and the sequence you'll go through to check status on a Magnum SRT8. Call 1-800-992-1997. Once it picks up, immediately press the following numbers on your key pad to get to a live operator for updated production info. 2-1-5-1. (And BTW. Every time I have called, the person on the other end of the line seemed to be as interested in my car's status as I was!) Now, I ordered mine like, within 12 - 18 hours after they became available to order on the dealers computers, so you may be out another 20-30 days based on your VON date. If you keep the Kicker system on your order, then it could be additional days, weeks or months longer before you get the VIN. I have not heard of another person on any of these forums with a VIN yet. It's your call.
You also may want to check your VON for the tire option you have on order. I live in So. Cal. so I didn't need the 4-season tires. Thank goodness someone on one of these forums gave me the heads up on that. I had the 4-season tires on my original VON and opted for the standard tire option which has a larger profile tire on the rear. Here is what I have in my Magnum file on that matter. I hope it will be of help you.
The Standar tire is:
3 Season Goodyear F1 Supercar
P245/45ZR20 - Front
P255/45ZR20 - Rear
The Optional tire is:
4 Season Goodyear RS-A
P245/45R20 - Front
P245/45R20 - Rear
Hope you get you car ASAP. Keep me/us posted.

Hi KK,
Thank you for the info. I'd fortunately already seen the 'AS' tire option and NOT taken it despite that fact that I live in Ohio. I figure I'll buy a set of 18 rims for the winter months and put snow tyres on. (You can't yet get snow tyres for 20" rims.)
When you deleted the Kicker option (which I think is option II) this option package also has the security ignition key chip option I believe. From what you said I am not sure if you meant you were able to keep that or keep the other option packages I and III? Your help much appreciated.
Cheers

Franko.
Yes. The other two items in that option are still included with the standard auidio system when you delete the Kicker. Won't know the difference in the option cost until it arrives.
