STOP! Wait, wait, wait...
I was at the largest Dodge dealership in the state (for us AZ folks thats Earnhardt) test driving the Charger R/Ts. I made a comment on how I wished it had a little more power, and he got into this conversation with me about the SRT-8s. Now, I'm not serious about buying a Charger, but I did want to drive one for obvious reasons. After buying the Viper I wont be buying any more cars for a while, but anyways I wanted to get out of there so I told the guy to go see if he had a brochure to give me. He goes inside and comes out 30 seconds later and tells me that he's out of brochures, but he told me to come in this time next month to test drive one! I was sorta stunned, then I started asking a whole bunch of questions. I made him go back in to double check, and sure enough, he had one on order for delivery mid- next month. I saw it on his screen with my own two eyes.
Now, I was under the impression that production on the SRT-8 doesn't even begin until September 10th, so how is it possible to have one delivered mid July?
I also made sure to ask if it was a pre-production model for "test-drive only", but he checked again and assured me that it was fully able to be sold. And let me tell you, a guy with a Viper at a Dodge dealership asking a whole lot of questions of the sales person and looking confused easily attracts the attention of the management.
So I asked the same questions of the management, and again they assured me that it was NOT a pre-production model and that it could be sold off the lot on arrival, it was not a customer order. So I'm confused, are they messed up, or did DC somehow up the ante on the production and roll these out a full four months ahead of schedule? I highly doubt the latter, but perhaps the date I have been hearing is incorrect. I just dont know...can anyone shed some light on this subject? Thanks!

vip,
Just talked to the Fleet Mgr. My SRT8, Magnum's ETA is 14th of July. (See new post of same here an everywhere!)
I am skeptical about the Earnheart report. Not that it has any bearing on this subject, but I used to sell their RV division some awnings and parts when I had that business going. No Bull! (That's they're "Motto") But you never know! Hope we get a little time out there as the "newest SRT8 to arrive" before the Charger guys start stealing the limelight! LOL!

I am talking about a Charger SRT-8 that they said would be delivered next month. I just dont know how that is possible, but anyways you sold RV's for Tex? Hah I used to be quite the bigwig at Beaudry...BIG rivals, eh?
No. I had a parts distribution company in California and sold them some stuff. Beaudry was my largest customer at on time as well. I still do business with them. They advertise in my show program and their RV park sets up an exhibit at my RV Show. (www.quartzsitervshow.com )

No that is impossible. I talked to a member of the SRT team and he said the Charger SRT-8 is not expected in dealerships until next March or April. I just picked up my SRT8 Magnum and talked to the dealership about how hard these are to get. This was the only one I could find in Northern California. I don't think next month is a viable option for the Charger.
Yeah I Got A Hemi,
Hate to burst your bubble, but I saw Engine Build #2 of the Chrysler 300 SRT-8 last month in Huntington Beach, Ca. In person. No Sales guy saying that they're coming in, no BS Thread saying they heard from a friend of a cousin of the guy who works in a Garage that knows someone who steals some stuff... I saw one. Cool Rims too! Have to admit that I have not seen a Magnum SRT-8 yet, though. Maybe next week! GO QZKING!!!
