Charger SRT-8 That thing got a Hemi? Indeed, a 6.1L Hemi that is. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 pounds the pavement with severe power.

Default Breakin In my Silver SRT8

Just picked up my Silver SRT8 two weeks ago. Finished tinting driver & passenger windows. Put a coat of Klasse All-In-One (Autogeek.com) on and it looks slick. Installing a K&N Aircharger CAI this weekend (#631114). I am happy with the pick up/HP once you get over 40mph, but it drags a little (relatively speaking)before then. Is this just the break in period or will I see that improve over time?

Welcome!

Just curious, is it a Magnum or a Charger?

Mine got noticeably quicker as the miles went on up to about 3-4k. Now over 6k and I think it's flattened out.

Thanks Franko. I just turned 700 miles so hopefully it will get better. I installed my K&N Aircharger (631114) yesterday and it helped the low end pick-up and gave it a more throaty sound. This was a pretty easy install. It took me about 2 hours with my 15 year old son doing the work. It was one of those Thanksgiving family moments, he is really into cars. I would recommend this pretty quick modification. Can't wait to put in an exhaust system.

just a little tid bit about the exhaust ...I bought a Magnaflow for my Mag SRT8 P/N 16642 if you get one of these the fit is excellent the sound is great the perfornamce is awsome, but i did have a problem with the first set of pipes, they were flared instead of being reduced, I did some modifications so I could just get it to work but I am still waiting on a reslution of the problem from magnaflow

Good luck on your exhaust you'll love the performance after

No Problem Craig. I am considering all options when it comes to an exhaust system. Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Borla, etc. It's helpful to hear from other folks about their experiences.

I did hear from borla that they are 60 t0 90 days out from a SRT8 exhaust .....do not believe anyone who tells you that a 5.7 exhaust is the same as a 6.1 ...there are big differences
