Run Flat Tires?
I read somewhere that our SRT8's are equipped with run-flat tires. Mine has Goodyear F1 Supercar, which are not run-flat design. Most cars that don't come with a spare have run-flats. It also doesn't say it anywhere in the manual. Does anyone know for sure?
You're right, the supplied literature regarding the tires on your car is either confusing or non-existant.
Your OEM Eagle F1 Supercar Tires are NOT extended mobility. They also cannot be "X" rotated as your fronts are 245/45ZR20's & the Rears 255/45ZR20's. These tires have ferocious traction in the dry, significantly reduced traction when wet, & absolutely no traction in ice or snow.
The Optional OEM 4 Season tires are Goodyear Eagle RSA- 245/45 ZR20's. These tires are also NOT extended mobility. This tire is available as a 20" EMT only as a 255/45ZR20. As all 4 OEM 245/45ZR20tires are the same size, they CAN be cross rotated. Dry Traction is less than your Supercar tires, wet the same or better, snow & ice better (but nowhere as good as a winter tire).
A good source regarding information concerning your tires is www.TireRack.com. Also, the Dec 06 Car & Driver has a comparison of "Seasonal" tires that you might find interesting on page 145.
By the way, make very sure the tire inflator that came with your car is not hooked up to utilize the tire sealer function before you plug it in. Things get real messy real fast if the inflation pump is connected to the sealant cannister & the pump turned on.

Yes, side to side rotation is OK. If your tires are wearing significantly differently on one side or the other, I'd check alignment before rotating. Note that your tire have a definate "inside" & "outside" [marked on the sidewall], so don't remount tires "inside out" to extend tread life.
Hi. I'm from Brasil and I already bought a Cherokee SRT8 with Run Flat Tires.
Well, here at Brasil this Cherokeehas a 245/45 R20 Run Flat Tire and I want to change it to 275mm or a 285mm but not a Run Flat Tire. Do you guys see any problem on that??
It's true that a Run Flat Tire has a harsh ride?
It's true that a Run Flat Tire can't be fixed?
And what about the tire pressure sensor, if Ichange toa non flat tire, it stills gonna work?
Sorry about the english.
Thanks
