Default 68 Dart 273 to 360 Conversion

Howdy...

Am planning on swapping out the 273 for a 360 and recently read something about oil pan differences, other then front vs. rear sump. I was wondering who may have some info on this.

Thanks,
Dave

Default I'm on it! LOL

Cool, thanks. Had been a mechanic by trade for over 13 years. Done mostly offroading stuff other then the usual gravy servicing. If interested, check out my site... www.hinlodesertrunners.com

That's our offroad/camping site. Been a Toyota, Samurai, Ford and Chevy tech-dude all my life with little Mopar experience. So any help is appreciated. Especially with my new found baby! I am falling in love with this car. It runs perfect right now with the 2bbl and the 273. It has 58,443 original miles, engine, trans, the whole shebang! But, wanna "pickle" the engine and drop in the 360. Sorta go a little retro stock car look on it a little bit but not change the vehicle's overall original integrity, if that makes sense.

Here is a pic in her current state, with the trim removed for repairs...

Anyway, thanks again!

Dave

I did the same swap and if you are planning to build the 360 be careful what oil pump you run with a front sump pan. I ended up having to massage my pan out a 1/4 inch in one corner because the pump didn't fit right with the pan. But have fun.
