1fstsrt, I was wondering if you knew the production figures for the 71 340 4spd. Demons were, I know it was low as 72 was not offered with a 4spd, only 3spd manual and 3spd Auto, I owned a 71 340 4spd 8.75 3.23 gear B5 blue Demon, had the factory Dual hood scoops and Rally Dash,Rally Wheels, it was a GREAT car, I bought it used in 76, the original owner was in the service, and had it ordered and he got orders to go to Germany, he was an officer and had some pull, when the car came in at the dealership it was trailered to the base where it was loaded on a cargo plane and sent to Germany, That was the first place the Original owner drove it, so it was broken in Right.....on the AutoBahn... it had all the German VIN tags that were installed when it was registered, I tried to get the License plate but he wanted to hang on to it..........needless to say that car would do the speedo, the front end would lift at about 145 mph. quite a ride....I sold it to a friend which proceeded to Rag the Cr_p out of it and blew the motor, and supposedly the car is sitting in a backyard about 50 miles from me, have thought about trying to get it back....have allways regretted getting rid of it.
Anyway if you know what the figures are I would appreciate the info.
Thanks
Dave

Sharp car! Love to see more pics of it. 4 speed or automatic? Looks a hell of a lot better than the ride I had when I was 16....

thanks TeeWJay. Yeah i love my car, and i know its a lot nicer than what most 16 year olds have, i apprieciate it more because ive put every ounce of money ive made in the past four or five years into it. I payed for the car, the engine, and the body work, and my dad helped me out with the paint for now. Ill pay him back. Anyways like i said its got a 402 ci mopar crate motor in it. It is a three speed automatic trans, but ive actually installed a gearvendor overdrive unit on the car. So i really have six gears, if i put it into manual. its got a dana 60 rear with 4:10 gears, and even though its not supposed to, it actually does have a/c. But i think of all the things done to the car, my favorite is the paint, and most of all the hand painted demons on the front fenders. Give me a couple of days and ill have some more pictures of it, but here are some of under the hood. Oh, and the pics of the red demon are pics from before i had done anything to the car, just to show you how much we changed.

I just thought I'd bump this back up the list.
JT I must say that that is a very nice MOPAR!
I got my '98 Dakota (318 Magnum V8, 44RE [basically a 904 torqueflight with electronic O/D], 4wd, 3.91 posi, 8-1/4" chrysler rear diff and a Dana 35 front diff) July 4 of 2005 after I couldn't find any Dusters anywhere, and have been making VERY slow progress on mods. It came with a Jet performance chip, flowmaster 50 delta flow, Rhino bedliner, Advance folding tonneau, So far I replaced the stock intake with a Mr. Gasket 14" air cleaner, replaced the upper ball joints, changed to colder plugs, completely stripped and repainted the front bumper where it had been rusting badly, and most recently I've added a Westin Safari light bar and my favorite, the exhaust cutout. When I got the truck the engine was full of sludge, apparently the previous owner didn't use synthetic or change the oil too often, but the engine is all cleaned out now. Next on my list is to do is replace the exhaust with a glasspack w/ turndown before axle, and a 50mm throttle body. Really no point in getting headers, intake manifold or heads because all of those things are actually shared with the 360, so I don't see a point in spending $$$ on that since I'm not all out racing.
P.S. I tried to get the 360, but they never made a 2-door 4WD Dakota with the 360, only the 318 or the new OHC 4.7L, I chose the classic time-proven mopar 318.
I attached some pics below.

EDIT: I just went out and got a $4 Duralast 14x3" paper filter from Autozone in Woodbridge, VA, the lid on the filter actually touches the hood, took a chip of paint off, but I'm not worried about it since it's not pushing down on the filter or up on the hood. That annoying whistle is gone, now I just hear the air rushing sound.

Very, Very sweet car JT! I had a dark green '72 3 speed. It's great to see someone your age taking such pride in the older American muscle cars with tuners being the craz these days. Keep up the great work and carry on the tradition!

I hate ricers...
Unless you're talking about the actual 'tuners' who actually build a fast(er) car, I assume you're talking about the people that just do visual mods that do nothing for performance.
Nothing sounds or performs better than a good 'ol American V8.
