Default Cleaning Rims

Is there any easy way to clean the grime, brake dust, and other nasty stuff off my rims? They are black with a super finish strips on them. They are nto pitted like chrome gets. The black is fine but the super finish parts have clump-like spots all over them. I took some neverdull to them and it starts to take it off but requires alot more muscle then I would like to do. Would one of those eraser wheels work? Or some sort of a pollishing wheel? Here is a pic of the rims when new to show u what parts are needing to cleaned.

I use Meguiars Chrome Wheel cleaner and it works on my chrome plated wheels. A claybar can also take contaminants off. I would clean the rim of the wheeel the same way,

Careful! Do not use a chrome wheel cleaner on coated/painted rims.

Try Mothers All Wheel & Tire Cleaner -- it's safe for rims like yours, and it's a great tire cleaner too.

Remember your wheels heat up considerably, you don't want to put something on them that will cook and discolor.

Those little clumps are build up. Once you get them off, and the wheels cleaned up well using something like a clay bar and a paint cleaner or what have you, regular washing with soap and water like the paint works 99% of the time.

Just be careful what "rubbing compound" is used as it can degrade the finish very quickly with a tool -- always start with the least-aggressive polish to do the job.

Ideally you use a wheel cleaner that can safely dissolve the soil on the surface, or try a clay bar as fascistfaction suggested.

I try to wash my rims, or at least get a quick wipe at 'em at least once a week. That way, no break dust or grime is allowed to settle. But every once in awhile, when i sit down to actually do a good scrubbin' on them, they are still absolutely gorgeous.

But for those of you who want a less time-consuming approach, i suppose i have nothing for u.
