Default How much to paint the hood?

Some ******* decided to key my hood the other day right smack in the front/middle... it's deep enough to feel it with my fingernail.

I'm gonna try some do-it yourself scratch remover first: http://www.amazon.com/Quixx-00070-US...0&sr=8-1-spell

..But from what I've been reading about scratches like this is it probably won't come out with scratch removers..

How much would it cost to paint the hood of my truck? 2009 Dodge Ram 1500.. this thing is EXTREMELY aggravating to look at.

The scratch can not be 'buffed' outIf you can put your fingernail in it. I would look at junkyards or ebay for a new hood as it may be cheaper than repainting it. Only an ******* would damage someones vehicle,

that paint is a dual stage, i'd say a normal body shop would charge you around 300-500 to repaint the whole hood.

and no that cannot be buffed out with a scratch remover compound. These compounds are only used for swirl marks, light scratches that are fine and on the surface of the clear coat.

With the scratch you have you are going to have to sand it down primer and repaint the area.

Where are you located at?

The cheapest I found a shop local to me to paint a hood (my SRT hood) was $175 and all the way up to $650 - ouch.....
