Default Refinished stock factory rear 9.25 diff plate. Wet sanded upto 3k. Grit. Pics.

Refinished stock rear diff plate. With 89k miles.
Stripped with Jasco paint and epoxy remover. USE WITH RESPORATOR...
Wet sanded . Started with 1k, 2500, and finished with 3000 grit.
Gritty slury is your friend. From the combo of metal dust, water, and the grit from the paper.
After sanding wash plate with Acetone thoroughly . Use Resporator. And a final wash withRubbing alcohol. Glove uo dont touch with fingers .
The paint i used was VHT Roll Bar And Chasis . Glossy..
RESPORATOR. First pass barely a dusting, second pass a bit heavier, and so forth.
I did 4 coats. Last coat i waited 20 minutes and did a final touch up until i achievedThis dripping wet gloss look. and with the 6 sided flanged 5/16-18 1/2 stainless hex bolts.
its gonna look good. The rest of the axle im going too finish with VHT Roll Bar and Chasis Black Satin...

Staring place my rear end.

After stripping. Starting my wet sanding. The more care and attentiin too detail you Spend here the better the outcome. I took mine too 3k grit.

Final acetone and rubbing alcohol prep After alcohol prep do Not touch. The VHT says not too use a primer coat so im A bit nervous because i sanded jt to 3k grjt. But we will see.

I think this is pass 3.

Final pass and touch up. Looks like liquid black Mercury. At this point i can really tell that my wet sanding is paying off.

And finally after a few. Hours of dry time. I did a mock up With my bolts. Its all in fhe DETAILS. Salude my detailing freakettes and freaks.
