I wanna see that^^^ ,...I used simple green on the engine..Just sprayed it on after i got back from wally world the other day..Sprayed the entire engine with it..and WOW it came out great...I thought for sure i would have to spray it with a hose but no way..!!
Wally World!!! LOL!!! Thats the same thing my mom and dad calls it Anyway, I just use degreaser. Stuff works wonders for me and I don't even use the pressure washer. I just spray some on the engine and let it sit for about half a cigarette then hose it off.

working in a detail shop I have washed plenty of engine bays with the engine NOT running, running it dont matter with most of todays new cars with solid state ignition. I never coverd anything up. electrical or not
what i did on my own cars after i stoped working at the car wash I would take it to the coin operated washes and open the hood and set the dial on tire cleaner with the engine dry soak the **** out of it with the tire cleaner then pressure wash it really good making sure to get ever little crevice this often did a great job. use an oil free protectant that dries completly so that the dust dont collect on it when finished.
the benifits of doing it this way is that you dont have to carry caustic cemicals with you the downfall i can think of is the soap may not be working sometimes the wash runs out of the cleaner.
I sugest going to several washes and seeing which cleaner works the best. they all have slightly diffrent compositons when it comes to tire cleaners and such the soaps are all generaly the same though.

So do you leave your engine running while you pressure wash it? or do you turn it off? Doesnt it hurt the engine if water gets in there? Just wonderin

So do I need to cover anything up? Or can I just spray everything and let it soak in soap stuff right?
